What does BIN stand for?
BIN stands for Buy It Now. The little orange BIN indicator informs you that the item can be purchased immediately on eBay for the specified price regardless if there's time remaining in the auction or if customers are still bidding on the item.
Typically, the BIN indicator is found on auction items.
Why do some items have the label "Fixed Price" and others don't?
All items that contain the "Fixed Price" label are non-auction items. That is, customers cannot bid on these items. They can only be purchased for the priced specified by the seller. Prices for such items typically don't change for the life of the listings.
How do I determine an auction itme from a non-auction item?
Auction items will contain the "Price" label and other indicators such as the # of Bids and BIN. Non-auction items will contain the "Fixed Price" label.
How do I retrieve BIN or Auction items only?
To retrieve auction items only, simply click the Auction tab. Note that all items, including BIN items, are returned in the results.
To retrieve items with the BIN indicator, simply click the Buy It Now tab. Both items with the BIN indicator and items with the "Fixed Price" label are returned in the results.
What does the PayPal indicator mean?
This box indicates that the seller of the item accepts PayPal as a payment option.
Why are all times given in Pacific Standard Time?
This is the time returned from the eBay servers. Like all data we receive from eBay, we have no control over this. Unless you are living on the West Coast, you will have to change the time given to reflect your current local time. Below is a simple strategy to use:
- EST (Eastern Standard Time) = PST - 3 hours
- CST (Central Standard Time) = PST - 2 hours
- MST (Mountain Standard Time) = PST - 1 hour
How can I bid on items?
You must first click on the desired item to see that item's description on eBay. On that page, scroll down to the bottom to the Bidding Section and place your bid. Note that you must first sign in or create an eBay account before you can bid on or purchase items.
